THE SEARCH FOR TRUTH is not a matter of the sum total of the
views and thinking of any particular social group – known as ideology
– but, standing far above that, the longing of the earnest seeker
for the Truth.
The wish, deeply sensed intuitively by many, for values which
are changeless, to which they can hold fast in their soul with confidence,
is nothing other than the search for Eternal Truth.
Only values that are linked with the Truth will give to a moral
philosophy a lasting content which is binding for men, and decisive
for their spiritual development.
Truth remains ever the same, eternally changeless.

The essays that follow are dealt with from the spiritual viewpoint,
and are intended as a stimulus for contemplation on those
things which cannot be perceived with our five senses, but only with
the intuitive perception of the spirit. May these essays encourage
deep reflection, above all about ourselves, without our falling at the
same time into unhealthy pondering.
Then a gate may suddenly open that until now had remained
closed, behind which emerges an ever brighter path that can lead
unswervingly out of many oppressing errors, doubts, and afflictions:
Upwards to the Light!
